Abstract

In this project, three passive micromixers are presented, which are crucial in chemical syntheses, drug manufacturing, and biomedical activities. Mixing is performed using the SAR method. Numerical simulations are employed to compare the micromixers and select the design with the highest mixing index. A 3D printer is used to fabricate the microfluidic device. To investigate the performance of the device, two different colors are first injected into the micromixer, and the color of the liquid exiting from the outlet is analyzed using image processing methods. Then, sodium monophosphate solution and sodium diphosphate solution are injected into the micromixer to synthesize PBS (phosphate buffer saline). The UV-Vis spectrum and I-V curve (conductivity) are used to analyze the solution exiting from the outlet.
